宇都宮大学ダイバーシティ・エクイティ＆インクルージョン推進宣言
宇都宮大学は、「人類の福祉の向上と世界の平和に貢献する」という理念のもと、学術の中心として広く知識を授けるとともに深く学芸を教授研究して、知的、道徳的及び応用的能力を展開させ、真理と正義を愛する人格を育成して、人類の福祉と文化の向上に貢献することを目的としています。
この目的を実現するために、性や年齢、国籍・民族などにとらわれず、多様な「知」と「人材」が集まり、その構成員一人ひとりが能力を存分に発揮できる環境が必要不可欠です。
宇都宮大学では、これまで、2011年度に「宇都宮大学男女共同参画宣言」の制定、2012年度に「男女共同参画推進室」を設置し、学内の男女共同参画意識の醸成、女性研究者のキャリア形成支援等に取り組んできました。
また、障がい学生に対する支援として、2016年度に障がい学生支援室を設置し、障がいの特性に応じた学びの提供に取り組んできました。
宇都宮大学は、これまでの学内における取組を継承し、さらに発展させるために、「宇都宮大学ダイバーシティ・エクイティ＆インクルージョン（DE&I）推進宣言」として、ダイバーシティ（多様性）、エクイティ（公正性）、インクルージョン（包摂性）を積極的に推進し、全ての多様な構成員が互いを尊重し合い、協働し、自分らしく輝ける大学づくりを推進することを、ここに宣言します。
【基本方針】
１．ダイバーシティ（多様性）
宇都宮大学は、全ての構成員の多様性を尊重し、人種、民族、国籍、言語、性別、性自認、性的指向、障がい・疾病の有無、年齢、宗教、信条、出身、地位、家族関係、その他一切の個人の事由を理由とする差別の排除や無意識のバイアスの解消を実現するために、意識改革やキャンパスづくりに努めます。
２．エクイティ（公正性）
宇都宮大学は、全ての構成員の尊厳を守り、学修・教育・研究・就労等における公正な機会を保障するための学内体制整備に努めます。
３．インクルージョン（包摂性）
宇都宮大学は、さまざまな属性や背景がある構成員を包摂し、全ての構成員が多様性を尊重する意識をもち、個々の能力を十分に発揮できる環境構築に努めます。
Utsunomiya University’s Statement on Promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Utsunomiya University, based on the philosophy of contributing to the improvement of human welfare and world peace, disseminates knowledge as a center for academic excellence. It conducts in-depth research and education in the fields of art and science, develops intellectual, ethical and practical competence, and cultivates a character that is committed to the pursuit of truth and justice. The aim is to contribute to the welfare of humanity and cultural enrichment.
To achieve this objective, it is essential to create an environment that attracts diverse knowledge and talent, where each member can fully demonstrate their abilities, regardless of gender, age, nationality, or ethnicity.
Utsunomiya University has taken the initiative to raise awareness of gender equality on campus and to support the career development for women researchers by adopting the “Utsunomiya University Statement on Gender Equality” in the 2011 academic year (AY) and establishing the Office for Gender Equality in AY2012. Furthermore, the university established the Office for Supporting Students with Disabilities in AY2016, offering tailored learning opportunities to students with disabilities.
Utsunomiya University hereby adopts this statement as a commitment to proactively promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to create an institution where all the members of the university community respect each other, collaborate, and shine in their own unique ways, building and expanding upon the following principles already in practice on campus.

1. Diversity
Utsunomiya University respects the diversity of all its members and strives to create a campus that eliminates and raises awareness of discrimination and unconscious bias on any grounds such as race, ethnicity, nationality, language, gender, SOGI (sexual orientation and gender identity), disability or medical condition, age, religion or belief, origin, social status, family relations, and other personal characteristics.
2. Equity
Utsunomiya University protects and preserves the dignity of all its members and strives to create a campus environment that ensures fair opportunities for learning, teaching, research, employment, and other activities.
3. Inclusion
Utsunomiya University strives to create an environment that is inclusive to all its members with their diverse characteristics and backgrounds, where everyone is aware of and respects diversity, and can fully demonstrate their individual abilities.
